Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson yesterday said he had "done everything" to help wantaway striker Wayne Rooney settle at the club, including giving him financial advice.
Ferguson was speaking following rumours the former Everton player wanted to leave the club.
"We have done everything we can for Wayne Rooney, since the minute he's come to the club. We've always been there as a harbour for him.
"Any time he's been in trouble, the advice we've given him - I've even been prepared to give him financial advice, many times."
According to the FSA Register, Sir Alex Ferguson is not authorised to give financial advice.
