Technology provider 1st Exchange is launching a white-label client communication portal for advisers.
The tool, which will be available in the winter, offers intermediaries instant access to client requests and can also be linked to advisers' own websites.
For clients, the portal provides a single online view of personal information which is linked to Adviser Office, with the ability to check the status of applications in progress in real time.
Customers can also ask their adviser questions and update their personal information using the service, which is compatible with iPhones and BlackBerry.
Paul Yates, strategy and business development director for 1st Exchange, says the tool was developed with the input of more than 100 firms.
"It will be an intuitive, easy to use, medium for developing stronger working relationships and communication between advisers and their clients," he says.
"It will allow advisers to circulate updates and documentation to clients as well as respond to questions, and provides the client with instant access to important policy and personal information. It will, in effect, be a simple window on the data held on the AO system."
