MetLife is launching free online revision sessions for advisers taking exams on pension income.
The insurer is teaming up with IFA training group Patterson Sales Training to offer free audio revision material on its website for advisers preparing for Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) JO5 pension income exams.
Advisers can access 10 audio revision modules on the website in the run-up to exams beginning on 19 April. The modules will be online for up to a week and advisers can do the course at home or in the office.
The initiative follows the retirement planning master classes run by MetLife last year.
"The J05 exams are an important part of increasing understanding and expertise in the vital area of pension income options and we are delighted to be able to make Patterson Sales Training material available to IFAs, says MetLife UK's head of product marketing Peter Carter.
"It is critical advisers pass the J05 exams as soon as possible ahead of the introduction of RDR."
Meanwhile, a survey of 100 MetLife clients carried out by ORC International suggests advisers are doing a good job at explaining the risks and benefits of guaranteed products, with 59% saying they are very satisfied and 36% saying they are fairly satisfied.
