The Platforum has joined forces with Capita to create an in-depth platform analysis tool for advisers.
Quantitative data from Capita Financial Services (CFS) has been combined with qualitative information from The Platforum to provide IFAs with detailed information for platform selection.
The new tool, currently codenamed Conundrum, will allow advisers to compare the various cost and charging structures across the market, as well as considering more qualitative aspects, such as ease of use.
Holly Mackay, managing director of The Platforum, says: Capita have the actuarial, research and technological resources which we lacked to address this important quantitative part of the analysis process - so it made sense to join forces.
"With The Platforum providing qualitative input and CFS providing the quantitative elements and the technological delivery, we think this tool will address all IFA requirements for both initial platform selection and fulfil the FSA's requirements for due diligence right down to the individual customer level."
A focus group is currently testing the development of the tool, with a full launch expected in the middle of year.
