Royal London's Smith joins Origo board

Royal London group distribution director Jim Smith has been appointed non-executive director of industry e-commerce provider Origo Services.

Origo says it will benefit from former financial adviser Smith's expertise in the effective use of technology by providers and advisers. Jim Smith says: "Although most of my career has been in sales roles, I've always had a strong interest in technology, and was head of e-business at Scottish Life for several years. "As an emerging bigger player in the market, it is important Royal London, and especially our intermediary businesses, help Origo deliver significant efficiencies and savings to the industry."
