Standard Life has hired James England as senior business development manager for its discretionary investment and wealth management business.
England joins from UBS AG where he was a director and client adviser, responsible for maintaining relationships with IFAs and providing investment advice to end clients.
He has also previously worked at a senior level at Grant Thornton Financial Markets Group and Deloitte Financial Consultancy.
Based in London, England will lead market awareness development for Standard Life Wealth through IFAs and professional connections in the UK.
Key to his role is building partnerships with intermediaries seeking to outsource investment management services to their high net worth clients.
Richard Charnock, Standard Life Wealth chief executive, says: "James has a proven track record and his broad range of experience and skills will be invaluable in further developing relationships with both IFAs and professional connections in the South."
"James' appointment comes at a crucial time in the development of Standard Life Wealth as we continue to see strong demand for discretionary investment management services using tailored volatility management and advanced investment techniques."
