Macquarie Funds Group, the asset management arm of Australia's Macquarie Group, has launched its first structured product aimed at UK investors.
The Macquarie Global Infrastructure Growth Plan is designed to reflect the performance of the S&P Global Infrastructure Index which measures the performance of 75 listed infrastructure companies.
Macquarie says the plan offers investors an opportunity to diversify their portfolio into an area that offers inflation protection and is a defensive investment.
"Given the essential nature of infrastructure, demand for its creation and maintenance continues to rise. Investors have recognised this opportunity and infrastructure is now an established asset class globally.
"Macquarie is offering UK investors tailored access to this asset class through the Macquarie Global Infrastructure Growth Plan,'' says Philipp Graf, head of the UK investment solutions & sales team of Macquarie Funds Group.
The plan is open for investment until 17 December.
Macquarie Funds Group manages more than £42bn of assets in areas including commodities, currency, equities, fixed income, fund of funds, fund of hedge funds, infrastructure, listed real estate and private equity.
It already offers two managed funds to UK investors, CF Macquarie Global Infrastructure Securities Ffund and CF Macquarie Global Property Securities fund.
