Former Standard Life head of distribution Peter Jolly is joining the ABI to help channel members to be RDR compliant.
Jolly, who will be assistant director of consumer and distribution reform, has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years in sales, strategy and distribution.
He succeeds Alex Roy, who has left to pursue a post outside the insurance industry.
Maggie Craig, the ABI's director of life and savings and director of consumer strategy says: "A key part of Peter's role will be to lead the ABI's work on implementing the RDR, making sure it succeeds in delivering high quality, appropriate advice to as wide a range of consumers as possible."
Peter Jolly adds: "I'm very pleased to have been given this opportunity to take forward the ABI's important work on improving customer experiences of insurance."
ABI members constitute over 90% of the insurance market in the UK.
