David Elms is stepping down as chief executive of IFA Promotion after being diagnosed with cancer.
Under his decade-long leadership, the company has worked tirelessly to promote the benefits and accessibility of independent financial advice through unbiased.co.uk
He founded its online ‘Find an IFA' search tool and oversaw the recent launch of a professional networking service for advisers.
David Graham, non-executive chairman of IFA Promotion, says: "We are very sad to see David leave and it is with even greater sadness that he leaves due to serious health issues.
"Our thoughts and support are with him at this time. The Board and the broader financial services industry is indebted to him for the invaluable role he has fulfilled over the last 10 years."
Karen Barrett, IFA Promotion's current marketing director, will take over the role of chief executive from 10 October.
