Sun Life buyout of Lincoln to complete next week

Sun Life's buyout of Lincoln's UK business is expected to be complete by next week.

Lincoln UK's head of product and marketing, Simon O'Connor, says the deal will complete on 1 October, though Sun Life have yet to reveal their intentions for the business. Announced in June, the £195m deal will see Canadian life insurer Sun Life Financial acquire Lincoln's UK business. Currently, Sun Life's only presence in the UK is through a closed with-profits fund. O'Connor says the deal, which has already received FSA approval, is expected to complete on 1 October, allowing accounting to pick up at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
