Credit Suisse head of European equities Jeff Currington is set to leave the firm to 'pursue other opportunities'.
He will be replaced by Cesar Perez, who joins from M&G Investment Management where he was head of European equities. Perez will report to Kim Goodwin, global head of equities.
Currington's European retail fund has underperformed its benchmark regularly in recent years, according to Lipper stats.
He joined Credit Suisse in July 2005 after stints at HSBC and Morely Fund Managers.
Perez will manage an eight-strong European equities team based in London, Zurich and Paris and will lead the firm’s European equity business.
Perez spent the first nine years of his career at JPMorgan Asset Management, initially working on Spanish equities and later covering all of Europe.
The appointment follows a string of hires at credit Suisse. Vipin Ahuja joined Credit Suisse from HSBC in May as a portfolio manager; Justin Jordan and Marcus Hankley, from Close Investments and Legal & General, respectively, will take up portfolio manager roles in July; Anne Marieke Ezendam will join the company from Threadneedle in early August as healthcare portfolio manager.
