AMI appoints deputy chairman

The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) has appointed Patrick Bunton as joint deputy chairman with immediate effect.

Bunton will support deputy chairman Stephen Smith of Legal & General Partnership and independent chairman, the Rt. Hon John Gummer MP. A director of AMI since 2007, Bunton is also operations compliance director at L&C, the largest directly authorised residential mortgage broker in the UK. His appointment was approved unanimously and he replaces Rob Clifford, formerly of Mortgage Force. "Pat has always been a valuable member of the board and he brings a wealth of experience.
