Aegon UK has appointed former head of HBOS's corporate division, Adrian Grace, as group development director.
Grace will take a major role in developing Aegon's variable annuities business across Europe and will take overall responsibility for the insurer's distribution strategy.
Aegon says it wants to capitalise on opportunities available to advisers following the RDR, and Grace will play a key role in these plans moving forwards, working with Positive Solutions' Jim Reeve and Origen's Stephen Greenstreet to achieve these goals.
Grace was managing director of the HBOS's corporate division, and has previously worked for Barclays Insurance, Sage Group and GE Capital.
"Adrian's experience in leading change and driving forward business performance in a number of different industries means he will be a valuable addition to our executive team," says chief executive Otto Thoresen.
"The economic environment is challenging but we have a strong team to take us forward through the next phase of our development."
