Fidelity International has recruited Prudential retail life and pensions managing director Gary Shaughnessy to head its UK retail business.
Shaughnessy is the long term replacement for former Fidelity UK managing director Richard Wastcoat, who stood down in September last year.
Reporting to the Fidelity Europe president Robert Higginbotham, Shaughnessy will be responsible for the group’s retail distribution business and strategy in the UK, which includes FundsNetwork.
Shaughnessy spent the last nine years at M&G and Prudential and has nearly 20 years experience in financial services.
Higginbotham says Shaughnessy has a deep knowledge and experience across a wide range of product areas.
“Gary’s proven track record, commercial skills and marketing background will be very valuable in developing our retail strategy in the UK and getting us back to being the UK’s largest mutual fund manager,” he says.IFAonline
