Axa/Winterthur streamline with new hires

Axa and Winterthur Wealth Management have streamlined the businesses with three senior appointments.
David Thompson has become managing director of sales and marketing at Axa and Winterthur. He formerly worked as managing director of Winterthur for almost a year and takes responsibility for all sales and marketing activities across the businesses.
Nick Elphick steps into the chief operating officer (COO) role at Axa and Winterthur after working as managing director of Axa Wealth Management since February 2007. He takes responsibility for all customer service and IT across Axa and Winterthur.
Meanwhile, Tom Wilkinson has become director of strategy and proposition for AXA and Winterthur. He previously held the director of strategy for Axa and Winterthur for just over a year after working in Axa's strategy department in Paris.
Mike Kellard, chief executive officer (CEO) of Axa and Winterthur, says: “A more streamlined and robust structure will help us improve customer service, bring new products to market more quickly and help us respond more effectively to opportunities in the industry.”
The restructure means the group will not replace the three. Axa and Winterthur will also fill the wealth protection director role shortly.
