Co-operative Financial Services has today announced the launch of its three most popular UK funds on the Cofunds platform.
The launch will give improved access to intermediaries in the wider investment market and was introduced due to significant demand from advisers for Co-operative’s responsible investment products.
Co-operative has also launched a new brand, Co-operative Investments, which will specifically serve investment professionals.
Co-operative Investments will launch on to other major platforms in the coming months to ensure maximum access for intermediaries.
Mark Summerfield, director of Life & Savings says: “Extending our offering to the wider market is an important strategic move which is in response to growing demand for our unit trusts and SRI offerings.
“Our research shows that intermediaries are likely to respond positively to our brand and products. We will be very receptive to feedback from them about our offering.”
Russel Lancaster, director of fund manager relationships at Cofunds, says: “We have really begun to see an increase in the sale of ethical funds, so the timing of Co-operative Investments’ retail launch could not be better.”
Jeremy Newbegin, director of The Ethical Partnership, welcomes the move by Co-operative and says: "The CIS Sustainable Leaders Trust has been a top performing fund and it has been frustrating that IFAs had no access in the past.
"The more access IFAs have to SRI funds the better", he says
The Co-operative investment funds available on Cofunds are CIS Sustainable Leaders Trust, CIS UK Growth Trust and the CIS UK Income with Growth Trust.
