Bluefin, a national advisory and insurance service, has launched today, combining a number of UK adviser businesses, including Thinc.
The new entity, unveiled by owner AXA last September, sees a number of players in wealth management, corporate benefits, insurance and financial advice united under a single UK brand.
Bluefin Advisory Services Limited consists of established businesses, including national IFA Thinc, PIFC, EB Consultants, Orbit Benefits and SBJ Benefit Consultants.
AXA is also merging insurance businesses, including Stuart Alexander, SBJ UK and Layton Blackham, to create Bluefin Insurance Services Limited.
Following an integration period, the previous brands will now operate under their new identity
"Over the last 18 months, we have focussed on expanding our service propositions in wealth management, corporate benefit consultancy and financial advice, through strategic acquisitions and Bluefin's launch now represents the next step in our strategy to build a world class advisory business," says John Simmonds, CEO of Bluefin Advisory Services.
The business has 100 offices and 3,000 staff in the UK and says it will retain its local presence, to serve private clients, small and medium sized businesses and large corporate clients.
Stuart Reid, current chief executive of AXA's Venture Preference Insurance brand, will become chief executive of Bluefin's insurance arm.
