The Institute of Financial Planning has introduced two one day workshops on personal financial planning and planning for the business owner.
The ‘personal financial planning’ workshop will be held on 17 October and is aimed at people preparing to take the IFP fellowship exams and at financial planners who want a technical refresher.
It will cover income tax calculations, different types of savings income, CGT basics, inheritance tax, taxation of trusts and taxation on chargeable events.
The ‘planning for business owners’ workshop will occur on 18 October and will work through the case study of a typical family company, progressing through the exit planning for the husband and wife owners, the purchase of the company by two new individuals, and raising additional finance for some expansion under new ownership.
It will also work through the fellowship syllabus and look at other issues such as personal service companies.
The workshops are for IFP members only and each costs £150 with a 10% discount if both are booked at the same time. They will both be held in Bristol.
