threesixty is offering a free updated version of its guide to IHT in response to the introduction of the transferable nil rate band announced in the last Pre-Budget.
The fee-based IFA support services provider says the new guide has been published following widespread confusion on the subject and demand for clarification by IFAs.
The guide is a revision of threesixy’s publication: A Basic Guide to Inheritance Tax, which provides an overview of IHT for IFAs, including answers to commonly asked questions around pre and post-2006 trusts.
IHT has become an increasingly important issue in recent years with the proportion of estates subject to IHT doubling, from 3% in the Chancellor’s 1999 Budget statement to 6% in the 2007 statement.
While IHT can be a complex area of financial planning, IFAs can reduce the impact of IHT by using straightforward arrangements, says threesixty.
David Ingram, partner at threesixty says the series of guides have proved popular with clients.
“The latest changes to IHT have created a lot of confusion so we have updated the guide to give IFAs the certainty they need to pinpoint potential problems and reduce IHT for their clients as effectively as possible.”
IFAs can request a free copy of the guide, stating a preference for a printed or PDF copy, by emailing [email protected]
