Edmans joins Pensions Regulator panel

Aegon's director of corporate development Laurie Edmans has been appointed as one of five non-executive directors of the new Pensions Regulator.

Chaired by David Norgrove, the new occupational pensions regulatory body replaces the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority from April 2005 and, in consultation with the FSA and Pensions Protection Board, will have powers to act where scheme member benefits are at risk. Edmans who is already a member of the OPRA board and chairs the Pension and Savings Committee at the ABI, is accompanied by other members by the panel which include Alan Pickering, author of the 2002 report commissioned by the DWP, entitled Simpler Way to Better PensionsChris Swinson: formerly senior partner of BDO S...
