The fund will invest primarily in Asia-Pacific real estate investment trusts as well as infrastructure and the utility sector.
It will be primarily an absolute return, long-biased fund with a target initial annual dividend yield of 7%-8%.
The fund will give investors access to the ARA Strategic Capital Asian Asset Income fund. ARA is one of the leading real estate fund management houses in Asia with ubstantial experience of the REIT and securitised asset markets in the region.
Bridget Guerin, director of Matrix, says: “The ARA Fund offers investors the opportunity to allocate into the young and growing market for Asia Pacific REITs and infrastructure and utility equities. These markets are characterised by high total returns and low correlation to traditional equity markets.
“The natures of all the investments are companies which have property or other infrastructure assets which generate a rental income which can be paid out as dividends.”
The fund will apply for UK fund distributor status allowing investors to take advantage of their capital gains tax allowance and to use taper relief. Shares also qualify for PEPs and ISAs, SIPPs and SSASs. The offer period opens on 24 May and closes on 20 June.
