Abbey for Intermediaries is to launch an awareness campaign into offset mortgages, to try and help intermediaries clear some of the fog surrounding these new products.
As a part of the campaign, the Glasgow-based firm has created a sales and information pack which could be used as a tool for IFAs advising clients who find it difficult to see how the various aspects of offset mortgages fit together.
The pack will include customer-focused literature, mortgage statements, case studies as well as competitor comparisons.
While Abbey hopes its campaign will highlight the benefits of offset mortgages in general, the firm aims in particular to highlight its own offset mortgage.
Abbey's Flexible Plus offset savings mortgage offers all key features of a flexible mortgage in addition to an offset facility. An extra benefit is, however, that clients will not have to switch their bank account to benefit from offsetting.
Ambrose McGinn, director at Abbey for Intermediaries, says: "Offsetting remains a bit of a mystery for some customers and that's disappointing because there's a wide range of people who can benefit from the flexibility of offset mortgages."IFAonline
