Fresh blood leads way towards Standard Life float

Edinburgh-based Standard Life has appointed new chief executives of both its UK life and pensions business and its fund management business Standard Life Investments.

Appointments come some two years ahead of the company's moves to demutualise to shore up its capitalisation. Trevor Mattews, currently president and chief executive officer of Manulife in Japan, will take on the life and pensions role on July 1st. Keith Skeoch is moving up up from his current role as chief investment officer to become CEO of Standard Life Investments.
