FTSE has disappointing end to week

The FTSE slumped slightly today, falling 9.70 points (0.18%) to 5352.60.

Eurasian shares fell 69 (7.27%) to 880p, while Legal and General Group slipped 6.72% or 7.1 to 96.6p. Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group, Hammerson and Schroders also sustained losses. However, Ferrexpo had a positive day up 10.25 (4.05%) to 263.25p. GB Group added 3.75% to 1108p. HBOS, Barclays and Imperial Tobacco Group were also up. On Wall Street, the Dow soared in early trading, up 35.58 points, or 0.31% to 11384.86. Alcoa was leading so far as shares climbed 0.95 or 3.04% to 32.23.
