NU offshore sales rise 60%

Offshore sales at Norwich Union International, Aviva's Dublin-based offshore business, have increased 60% to £521m, according to the provider's annual results.

Unit-linked offshore bond sales more than doubled to £280m compared with £135m in 2006. Neil Davies, director of investments marketing at Norwich Union, says: “Sales in the UK have grown strongly because we have continued to enhance Premier Portfolio – our flagship open architecture wrapper.” He also attributes the boost to last year’s discretionary manager launch with in-specie transfers. “The attractiveness of discretionary asset management has continued to grow strongly.
