The Institute of Financial Planning's annual conference is now just one month away and this year includes sessions from international experts on financial planning and practice management.
This year’s IFP Forum for Success conference on 6-7 October is changing locations and moving to the Hanover International Hotel & Club in Hinckley, Leicestershire, to discuss the latest thinking in compliance, financial planning, industry and regulatory developments as well as uncover any new business tips for
Guests this year invited to speak, among others, include Justin Urquhart Stewart on Seven Investment Management, Noel Maye, senior vice president of the US Certified Financial Planning board – the organisation behind the IFP's CFP accreditation – and Julie Littlechild of Advisor Impact – a Canada-based firm which offers ideas on how to improve profitability.
Some of those international delegates and guests will also be able to offer insight, for example, into discussions concerning the ISO standard, which has been touted for the past two years as the top level of examination requirements for IFAs and financial intermediaries under the Financial Services Skills Council.
Maye has worked with representatives from other CFP organisations around the world over the last four years to try and establish an international standard or accreditation of financial planning.
A panel discussion is then being staged – including former Sofa chairman Robert Reid, financial planner Sheryl Garrett, Noel Maye of the CFP and Ian Shipman, investment director at Thinc – to look at the future of financial planning and their ideas for the vision of the profession.
All bookings for the conference and accommodation must go through the IFP, so to view the programme or make reservations, either go to the IFP website or telephone 0117 945 2470.IFAonline
