Legal & General (L&G) has put together a team of specialists to help smaller advisers write more protection business.
The 11-strong squad or protection development managers (PDMs) will proactively target some firms, L&G says, although advisers in need of support can also contact the insurer to meet with a specialist.
L&G says the team is able to work with firms that have "not traditionally" had regular contact with it, adding the PDMs will maintain a close working relationship with L&G's existing protection telephone sales team.
"We realise the importance of having a face-to-face presence with IFAs and we are investing and expanding in this regard," says Martin Noone, protection IFA sales director.
"Our objective is to build mutually beneficial relationships with IFAs to help them become experts in protection and make their business more profitable."IFAonline
