Assureweb close to new deal?

Industry speculation suggests Assureweb is close to signing a new shareholder deal with a consortium of life insurance companies.

At present, Aegon, Clerical Medical, Friends Provident, Norwich Union and Scottish Widows together hold a 40% stake in the IFA platform, however, some of that deal was scheduled to run out in May this year. Sources suggest an announcement will be made next month, which could see the arrival of at least one new name to the shareholder group and might allow existing providers to increase their stake in the technology platform owned by Misys.
