Calculating how much money clients can put away tax free with National Savings & Investments should be easier with the launch of a new online tool by the government agency.
The online calculator aims to show how both tax and non-tax payers alike can benefit from products currently available. More than £90,000 can be tucked away in various products the agency says including: £60,000 in index-linked and fixed-interest Savings Certificates, £30,000 in Premium Bonds, £3,000 in a mini cash ISA. Besides giving an inkling of the amounts that a person can save with NS&I, the calculator is also intended to educate users on the effects of tax and inflation on the value of savings.
