Home Buyer Systems (HBS) is offering brokers a free 24-hour trial of its HBSLite sourcing system.
The system is designed to allow brokers to source intermediary and direct-to-lender mortgages by using product information from Defaqto.
In recent months, dual-pricing of mortgages has raised the costs of products available to intermediaries, making it difficult to recommend good mortgages to clients.
HBS says some lenders have tried to play down the dual-pricing problem, and claims the cheapest direct-to-lender products can save borrowers between £900 and £1200 over a two-year period compared to the cheapest intermediary products.
HBS says its system allows brokers to source full product information and paperwork for direct-to-lender products, and brokers can charge a fee for the advice they are giving.
HBS says the system has been in high demand since being launched three weeks ago.
“We have, however, found that some people thought it was too good to be true and so did not proceed,” says HBS’s managing director Richard Angliss.
“We understand this and we felt we needed to give brokers the chance to ‘try before you buy’.”
