New Star in quadruple success at Lipper fund awards

New Star is celebrating after four of its funds won awards from Lipper for being the best in their respective sectors.

The Guy De Blonay-run New Star Global Financials fund won the 2008 Lipper Global Equity Sector Banks and Other Financials Sector Award. It returned 175.9%, compared to 75.4%, for the IMA Specialist sector index since launch, and is also the best performing financials fund in the UK over this period. In addition, the firm’s Active Portfolio fund won best Equity Global Award while its Pacific Growth Unit Trust won the Equity Asia Pacific ex-Japan Award.
