Gartmore has expanded its European equities team and taken on Pierre Castela as hedge fund analyst on its AlphaGen Capella and AlphaGen Velas funds.
Castela will join Gartmore in April reporting to and supporting Roger Guy and Guillaume Rambourg on the US$1.6bn large-cap European long/short equity fund - AlphaGen Capella – as well as supporting David Thompson on the recently launched European equity long/short directional fund – known as the AlphaGen Velas.
Having previously been in Paris with Kepler Equities – formerly known as Julius Baer Equities – focussing on the French equity markets, Castela also worked for Bryan Garnier Asset Management in London as a hedge fund manager, and held a number of senior positions at Goldman Sachs and UBS Warburg.IFAonline
