Boutique investment house Baillie Gifford has won two 2008 Morningstar UK fund awards.
The firm was named the Best Smaller Fixed Interest and Best Multi-Asset Fund house at today’s awards.
M&G won the Best Larger Equity House award, Artemis was named Best Smaller Equity house and Fidelity won the Larger Fixed Interest house prize.
Invesco Perpetual won three awards in the individual fund categories, with Neil Woodford’s High Income vehicle named best UK large-cap equity fund.
Morningstar says many of the funds selected exhibited a willingness to go against the crowd.
“Following the herd is rarely a recipe for success, whilst original research and the courage to back your ideas with significant assets is often what sets the very best managers apart from the pack,” it says.
Over 3000 UK-domiciled and foreign funds available to UK investors were considered for awards. For the full list of winners, click here.
