Miners have helped drive the FTSE to a strong end to the week as the FTSE100 rises 1.09% to 6,414.80.
Antofagasta tops the table up 25.00 to 708.50 while Anglo American is up 84.00 to 2968.00. Other stocks which boosted the FTSE included Punch Taverns (up 25.50 to 801.00) and Rolls-Royce which rose 16.00 to 526.00. At the other end of the table, there was further gloomy news for Northern Rock which fell 1.90 to 90.10 as rumours abound it may be nationalized by the Government. Land Securities was another casualty, down 1.00 to 1441.00.
