Friends Provident has added three green funds to its Friends Wealth Solutions bond.
Schroders and F&C manage the funds, the Stewardship Corporate Bond fund, the F & C Global Climate Opportunities fund and the Schroder Global Climate Change fund.
The Stewardship Corporate Bond fund forms part of the F & C Stewardship ethical range, which includes screened ethical funds. The fund does not invest in gilts as the Stewardship range excludes them.
The F & C Global Climate Opportunities fund and the Schroder Global Climate Change fund invest in companies involved in climate change-related activities inlcuding alternative energy, agriculture and water and low carbon fossil fuels.
Julia Dreblow, socially responsible investment marketing manager at Friends Provident, says: “The new Stewardship Corporate Bond fund has been made possible by the Stewardship Committee of Reference recently approving some leading banks, who are taking environmental and social issues more seriously than ever before.
The additions bring the bond’s total green funds to 14. The bond has a total of 24 investment partners offering more than 130 funds.
