Head of client investment leaves Abbey

John Kelly, the man behind the group's multi-manager proposition, has left Abbey to pursue other opportunities.

Since joining Abbey in March 2002, Kelly has played a key role in product development at the firm including helping set up the multi-manager division. Abbey’s new CIO John Bearman will be overseeing multi-manager products going forwards. Kelly’s departure comes in the wake of a number of new appointments to Abbey’s asset management division. Santander Asset Management, the asset management arm of Abbey’s parent Santander Bank, has managed Abbey's investment portfolios since January when it unveiled ambitious plans in the European investments arena.
