Gartmore is set to replace outgoing multi-manager deputy head Marcus Brookes with Tony Lanning.
In addition, Katie Trowsdale will also join the firm as senior analyst.
Lanning, set to join the firm next month, arrives from private bank Arbuthnot Latham & Co, where he was head of collectives research.
Prior to this he spent six years as director of research and investment at Origen, part of Aegon.
Trowsdale has over seven years experience in funds research and will be joining from Kleinwort Benson, where she was fund research analyst responsible for selecting and monitoring funds.
Gartmore head of multi-manager Bambos Hambi says: “During my 20 years in this industry I have come across many good people and I am extremely pleased Gartmore has been able to attract two of the best.
“They both have strong credentials and high quality experience in the field of fund selection.
“More importantly I am also confident that they will fit with our existing culture and investment philosophy.”
Phil Wagstaff, global head of distribution, adds: “The speed at which we have made these appointments is a clear reflection of our commitment to this important business area."
