Champion ends 20 year career at C&G

John Champion is to leave his role as intermediary sales director at Cheltenham & Gloucester, after 20 years with the lender, at the end of the month it was confirmed today.

Champion had told the lender he would be leaving earlier this year but a spokesman says Champion decided to stay on to oversee the restructuring of the company, which included centralising its mortgage processing systems. Joy Griffiths, chief operating office at C&G, says: "John Champion has decided to leave C&G at the end of September after nearly 20 years of service.” Champion joined C&G in 1987 as a branch manager, progressed to regional manager and held several other senior roles before becoming intermediary sales director. “C&G has changed enormously over the past few years and John...
