John Champion is to leave his role as intermediary sales director at Cheltenham & Gloucester, after 20 years with the lender, at the end of the month it was confirmed today.
Champion had told the lender he would be leaving earlier this year but a spokesman says Champion decided to stay on to oversee the restructuring of the company, which included centralising its mortgage processing systems.
Joy Griffiths, chief operating office at C&G, says: "John Champion has decided to leave C&G at the end of September after nearly 20 years of service.”
Champion joined C&G in 1987 as a branch manager, progressed to regional manager and held several other senior roles before becoming intermediary sales director.
“C&G has changed enormously over the past few years and John has played a key role in helping to shape and develop the business. He has made a significant and valued contribution to our success", adds Griffiths.
C&G says it has already begun searching for Champion’s replacement.
