Retail investor confidence fell in February compared with the month before, according to the latest JPMorgan Fleming Investor Confidence Index survey.
The index shows, however, that investors overall are still remain positive about the future, with 43% of those questioned saying they believe the stock market will be higher in six months’ time.
Some 18% believe it will be lower, while 39% are unsure of the direction share prices will take.
This time last year, when markets reached their lowest point in the bear market, just 20% of investors felt equities prices would rise.
