Baillie Gifford has appointed new managers to its European and Pacific OEIC sub funds.
Peter Hollis will replace Michael MacPhee as co-manager of the Baillie Gifford European fund, an OEIC sub-fund of the Baillie Gifford Overseas Growth Funds ICVC.
Hollis, who became a Partner in 2002 joined Baillie Gifford in 1989 and became a partner in 2002. He was part of the UK Equity and the North American investment teams before joining the European team in 2004.
He will co-manage the European fund with existing co-manager John Burke together with Angus Franklin. Angus is a qualified Chartered Accountant who joined Baillie Gifford in 1994. After working in the UK Small Companies team, he is now an investment manager in the European Investment Team.
Meanwhile, Ben Lloyd, who is currently the co-manager of the Pacific fund, is leaving Baillie Gifford on 9 July 2008 to travel in China. He will be replaced on 1 June 2008 by Mike Gush who joined the firm in 2003 and is an investment manager in the Emerging Markets team. Gerald Smith will remain as the co-manager of the fund, a position he has held since January 1995.
