LV= has appointed a new life and pensions management team following its January acquisition of Swiss Re's retirement business, Tomorrow.

David Evans becomes sales and marketing director for the LV= life and pensions department, overseeing intermediary and direct business. He previously worked as managing director of Tomorrow.

Customer solutions director John Perks widens his responsibility to cover all life and pensions products. He joined LV= last year after spells at Prudential, Swiss Life and Axa. Evans and Perks report to Rodney Cook, managing director of LV= Life and Pensions.

Vanessa Owen becomes head of equity release and technical services. She previously spent 11 years working in compliance, IFA support and life and pensions product development.

She is joined by Chris McFarlane who becomes head of protection and pricing. The qualified actuary has worked at LV= for four years and previously held roles at Swiss Life and protection provider UNUM.

Matthew Trott, head of annuities, and Ray Chinn, head of pensions, take on wider responsibility across the LV= annuity and pensions portfolios.

Finally, Stuart Tragheim becomes distribution strategy and business development director, responsible for marketing, national accounts and e-commerce. He previously worked as director of intermediary business at LV= after joining the company in 2005 from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) where he worked as director of the ABI’s raising standards scheme.
