Alliance Trust has appointed Kelly O'Donnell as managing director of distribution for its financial services arm.
O’Donnell, who has been at the firm since 2005, was previously head of investor relations, and will now take on responsibility for strategic development across the intermediary and institutional distribution channels of Alliance Trust Savings.
Reporting to Janet Pope, chief executive of Alliance Trust Savings, O’Donnell will also work closely with the firm’s pensions and operations teams to build on the company’s existing service for intermediaries.
She says: “Alliance Trust has been evolving rapidly since I came on board, and the management team has a clear vision of how the business will look in the future.
“This exciting new role gives me greater scope to influence strategic direction and to help drive through our ambitious plans by developing stronger and deeper relationships with our clients.”
Janet Pope adds: “Kelly has already worked extremely effectively to build the business and relationships of Alliance Trust and I’m delighted to welcome her to this important new role.
“Her work for the Investment Trust Services business has already been a key factor in Alliance Trust Savings’ successful growth and bringing her expertise and experience to bear across all our distribution channels means we can identify and move on opportunities right across the business.”
O’Donnell has previously worked at Morgan Stanley in New York, Natwest and SWIP.
