MetLife has raised its standard allocation rates by 1.5% on its Investment Bond.
The charging structures for standard allocation rates after the 1.5% vary between 102% and 104%. Allocation rates fall between 97% and 99% for customers accessing their funds without penalty.
The move comes as stock market volatility has sparked increased interest in guaranteed products with MetLife research showing the FTSE 100 has lost 8% since its June 15 high.
Mike Phillips, head of distribution at MetLife, says: “Recent market turmoil has demonstrated the value of guarantees and lock-in facilities as they enable clients to remain exposed to equities whilst also having a degree of security.”
