Invesco and Punch Taverns drag FTSE

The FTSE opened at 6188 this morning after dropping 36.3 points, or 0.58%.

Invesco fell 23.5 points, or 3.89%, to 580.5p. Punch Taverns fell 23 points, or 2.15%, to 1049p. Northern Rock fell 23 points, or 2.15%, to 747.5p. Morrison Supermarkets fell 5.75%, or 2.02%, to 278.75p. Rolls-Royce Group dropped 9.5 points, or 1.88%, to 495.5p. Daily Mail and General Trust rose 27.5 points, or 3.88%, to 736.5p. ITV rose 2.8 points, or 2.75%, to 104.6p. Imperial Chemical Industries rose nine points, or 1.43%, to 640.5p. International Power rose five points, or 1.17%, to 431p.
