Alliance & Leicester has launched a new fax system to speed up packaging for brokers and their clients.
The ifax system allows brokers to fax documents to Alliance & Leicester, before converting them to electronic formats which can be sent via e-mail.
Alliance & Leicester says the system is superior to postal applications as it avoids the risks of losing paperwork, as well as being a much quicker way to submit documentation.
The system also produces much clearer documents than a standard fax printout, reducing the need for processing staff to check details.
Alliance & Leicester says the system can be used to send certified packaging, signed intermediary and customer declarations, complete direct debit mandates and paper applications. No specialist equipment other than a fax machine is needed.
Commenting on the launch of ifax, Jill Butterwood, intermediary transformation manager at Alliance & Leicester, says: “The launch of ifax as part of our Programme of Transformation highlights Alliance & Leicester's commitment to providing a fast and efficient service to the intermediary market.
“In turn, it means that our intermediary partners will also be able to pass on the quicker service to their clients as ifax will speed up processing times, by removing the time it takes for documents to be posted and sorted at the Mortgage Centre.”
