A series of pension trustee workshops are to be jointly held by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) and the Pensions Management Institute (PMI).
Held in May, the workshops aim to outline how the PPF works with trustees and what support it can give during the assessment period.
The workshops will be split into six sessions covering experiences learned during the PPF’s first year of operation, an outline of the scheme information the PPF needs during the assessment period and examples of the type of wording which should be used in communications to scheme members.
Other topics will include how to carry out planning of the assessment period, how scheme data should be presented to the PPF to ensure a straightforward transfer and what to expect in the final stage of the assessment period during a scheme handover to the PPF.
Confirmed speakers at the events include Penny Green, president of the PMI, Alan Duncan, PPF operations director and Stuart Barker, PPF assessment team leader, as well as members of the PPF assessment team who will speak at each of the three events.
The PPF suggests the workshops would be most helpful to all trustees who may be involved with the PPF regardless of their level of experience, along with trustees who work at an operational level.
Dates for the three workshops are as follows:
- London: May 15
- Glasgow: May 18
- Manchester: May 22
