The AIC has identified the 20 investment trusts with the most consistent performance over the last decade.
The five most consistent are: JP Morgan Russian Securities, Genesis Emerging Markets, Advance Developing Markets, Aberdeen New Dawn and BlackRock World Mining.
The group said the 20 best trusts come from a diverse range of 12 sectors.
Sectors most represented were: Global Emerging Markets and UK Smaller Companies, with three investment companies in each. The Global Growth, Asia Pacific ex Japan, Private Equity and Europe sectors all had two investment companies.
A spokesperson for the AIC said: “In some cases looking at consistency - discrete performance each year - gives a different result from solely looking at past performance.”
JPMorgan’s Russian Securities is the most consistently out-performing investment company over one, three, five and ten years, comparing the results of 20 best trusts. It also has the best ten year performance record, with a £100 investment growing into £4,854.IFAonline
