Prudential UK has appointed Barry O'Dwyer managing director of retail life and pensions.
Currently products and marketing director for HBOS Financial Services, he is in charge of investment, pensions and protection products across the Clerical Medical, Halifax and RBS brands.
Prior to joining HBOS in January, O’Dwyer spent 19 years at Standard Life, most recently as managing director for UK marketing.
O’Dwyer will be responsible for developing and delivering Prudential UK’s strategy in the retail market.
Nick Prettejohn, chief executive of Prudential UK and Europe, says the group has a clear focus in the retirement savings and income market.
“Barry brings with him a wealth of experience across financial services and he will work with our strong team across the UK business to build on these core strengths,” he says.
O'Dwyer adds: "I believe that the winning combination of a strong brand, great products and clear strategic focus will ensure that Prudential capitalises on the huge opportunity in the rapidly growing retirement market."IFAonline
