Synaptic research to go live on the Exchange

The Exchange is integrating a new research tool by Synaptic System into its portal from December 1st, which also carries a new pricing structure for any research undertaken.
Called the Synaptic Smart Search, the product research facility is said to be far superior in knowledge and databanks than that currently offered by The Exchange but is not as comprehensive as Synaptic’s full research module called Product Manager.
Data covers product information from all of the major providers in the life assurance, critical illness, income protection, retirement planning, house purchase, investments and offshore investments markets, presented in tabular form and can be filtered to seek out specific client requirements.
Part of the facility’s access is a new charging structure to the research tools, as intermediaries pay £3.00 for product research report produced, or pay a flat monthly fee of £7 for unlimited use of each product category.
Any adviser subscribing to all three protection categories – life assurance, critical illness and income protection - pay just £15 per month and for those subscribing to all seven categories as listed above, the price will be discounted to £25 per month.
Summary reports can be produced as part of the deal and any product search results can be stored as part of the Exweb filing system and product data is updated monthly.
Smart Search is part of a strategic alliance formed by The Exchange and Synaptic Systems earlier this year.
