Hargreaves Lansdown, Friends Provident and Prudential shared five winners' awards at the fifth annual Online Finance Awards 2004 held last evening.
Further prize winners included Selestia, Smile, Birmingham Midshires, Bradford & Bingley, Assureweb, Interactive Investor and Deal4Free.
Standard Life’s www.ifazone.com scooped the Adviser’s Choice award.
The evening is arranged to reward excellence in sites specialising in financial services across a number of b2b and b2c categories, with judges scoring points for categories such as technology, level and clarity of information, presentation, as well as ethical use of information provided on the sites.
Deborah Benn, chair of the judging panel said: “A combination of increased competition and more investors relying on financial sites to research means we are seeing a lot more of a tailored approach. The winning sites certainly had taken the time to address their target market and not gone for the one-size fits all approach."
